The scandal surrounding Belgian politician Conner Rousseau shows once again that anti-Roma racism is not just something of right-wing extremists. For a well-known politician to insult the entire Roma community is nothing new. Serena D'Agostino explains how his remarks are part of an age-old discriminating rhetoric against one of the most marginalised racialised minority groups in Europe.
