The event is at the initiative of some of our BIRMM members, please do not hesitate to diffuse widely!!
In solidarity with Palestine, we call on YOU, the VUB community, to join us at the amphitheater on the Etterbeek campus on November 15th (Wed) at 12pm! On our program: speeches by Maha Abdallah (UAntwerpen) Suheil Yassin (VUB), and Anya Topolski (EAJS/ Radboud Universiteit) amongst others, as well as music performances, and a moment of silence. The violence in Gaza has now claimed over 10.000 lives, including 4.000 children. As we continue to witness the violence and dire humanitarian crisis, we believe that it is time for us, VUB staff, students, researchers, and alumni to come together to stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
We hope to bring together people of the VUB community concerned about the ongoing catastrophe in Gaza, and create a space for reflection and support. We will honor and remember the lives lost, and call for an immediate ceasefire! We believe that as a university we have a collective responsibility to acknowledge the violations of international humanitarian law, oppose injustice and colonialism, and advocate for an end to the violence and occupation of Palestine.
Please show your support! Join us in commemorating the lives lost, raising our voices against injustice, and advocating for peace. Your presence matters! We kindly urge everyone to widely share the event flyer, the Facebook event link and mobilize your network. Let's make a statement, VUB! Bring friends, flags and banners - together we stand strong!
Sincerely,
VUB Palestine Solidarity Network
