Biography
Omar N. Cham is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Migration, Diversity, and Justice at the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He holds a PhD in Political Science from VUB, where his dissertation explored the narratives of Gambian state and non-state actors regarding EU migration control policies.
Omar's research broadly focuses on the external dimensions of EU migration policies, with a particular interest in EU-Africa relations concerning migration. He has previously worked on the H2020 BRIDGES project, which examined the production and impact of migration narratives in Europe and beyond. Currently, Omar teaches courses at the Brussels School of Governance and co-directs the Centre for Migration, Diversity, and Justice.
