
Boris Horemans
Biography
Boris Horemans (1989) studied history at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He finished his MA in History at the VUB with a dissertation on the socio-economic aspects of the Brussels ‘Four Crowned’ guild in the eighteenth century and subsequently obtained an MA in Urban History from the University of Leicester (UK) for the dissertation of which he moved his field of activity to the building craft guilds in eighteenth-century Mechelen. The centre for Urban History awarded his dissertation with the David Reeder Prize for Urban History. Since October 2012, he is a member of the centre for Historical Research into Urban Transformation processes (HOST), where he is preparing a PhD on the relations of production in the building trades of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Brussels. Starting from october 2013, he was awarded a PhD Fellowship of the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO).
