BIRMM and BRISPO invite you to our joint film series Movies that Matter, which brings together critical cinema and collective discussion on race, class, and imperialism. 

Movie description: Jazz and decolonization are entwined in this historical rollercoaster that rewrites the Cold War episode that led musicians Abbey Lincoln and Max Roach to crash the UN Security Council in protest against the murder of Patrice Lumumba.

• Time: 5PM until 7PM
• Free entrance – bring snacks and drinks!
• The film will be screened with English subtitles. The discussion afterwards will also take place in English.
