Biography
Hanna Schneider is an associated PhD Researcher in the Migration, Diversity and Justice cluster at the Institute for European Studies and affiliated to the Department of Political Science at VUB. Her PhD project focuses on refugee resettlement and explores the agency of refugees and frontline workers within the resettlement process.
Hanna obtained a MSc in Public Policy and Human Development with a specialisation in Migration Studies from Maastricht Graduate School of Governance (Netherlands) and a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University (Netherlands). During her Bachelor, she also spent a semester abroad at Universidade do Porto (Portugal).
Before joining the IES, Hanna worked as a project manager in civic education. Focusing on EU asylum policies, she was responsible for conceptualizing, organising and conducting simulations of EU negotiations for university and high school students and teachers. She has also analysed and evaluated EU policies on development cooperation and is experienced in intercultural consultation.
