Biography
Fleur De Backer is a PhD candidate at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in the research unit Inequality and Racism (Sociology). She holds a bachelor's degree in Photography (LUCA School of Arts) and a master's degree in Sociology (Ghent University). Her research focuses on cross-national differences in racism in Europe, and how these vary over time in response to political, economic, and social developments, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Pieter-Paul Verhaeghe. Fleur is interested in topics related to (racial) inequality, power and meaning-making.
