Join us on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 for a (Hybrid) conference titled "Empowering regions and cities in migrant integration governance." . This conference will focus on the multi-level coordination and intercultural approach to the integration of migrants and refugees in cities and regions across Europe.
The conference will present insights and recommendations based on previous and ongoing research on the multilevel coordination of migrant integration, carried out by the Eurac Research and Vrije Universiteit Brussel – BIRMM. It will also aim at addressing the current challenges of migrant integration, and explore how, by applying the intercultural approach, regions can foster inclusion and a sense of belonging. It will bring and discuss the main outcomes and policy tools developed within the AMIF funded project EU-Belong: Intercultural Integration of Migrants in Europe’s Regions, led by the Assembly of European Regions (AER) and aimed at improving the socio economic inclusion of migrants through the development of intercultural integration strategies.
By bringing together local and regional authorities, representatives from European Commission and other European institutions, academia, and civil society, this conference will represent a unique opportunity to discuss and come up with new proposals on how to respond to the increasing diversity of our communities and foster the inclusion of migrants and refugees, intercultural interaction, and social cohesion.
To attend the conference, in person or online (Interactio), please fill in the registration form here (Interpretation will be provided in English, Polish, Spanish, and Italian).
This conference is organized in cooperation with the Cities and Regions for Integration of Migrants network of the European Committee of the Regions, the Assembly of European Regions (AER), Eurac Research & Brussels School of Governance at Vrije Universiteit Brussel
