Biography
Dounia Bourabain is a PhD researcher and teaching assistant at the sociology department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She graduated as an honorary student with the greatest distinction in the master of sociology at the VUB. She also studied migration studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research interests lie within the field of inequality, racism and discrimination in different domains of society, among which clothing stores, schools, and higher education institutions. Her research has been publicly recognised and for which she won several prizes among others the P.F. Verhulst prize and the Acco Thesis prize.
She is also a member of the editorial team of the Tijdschrift voor Genderstudies and is a member of the evaluation commission of the federal anti-discrimination law.
