
Dorien Brosens
Biography
Dorien Brosens is assistant professor and postdoctoral researcher in the Department of (Adult) Educational Sciences. She is co-director of the research group PArticipation and Learning in Detention (PALD). She has a MA (Brussels, 2011) and a PhD in Adult Educational Sciences (Brussels, 2015). She holds a senior postdoctoral fellowship of the FWO, focusing on peer programs in prison. She has published on several themes related to participation and learning in detention, such as active citizenship, innovative forms of learning, and reintegration. Her research spans across formal, non-formal and informal learning activities. She coordinates multiple research projects and supervises PhD-students on topics related to learning and participation in prison.
