Dimitrios Gioumoukis
Biography
Dimitrios Gioumoukis is a researcher focusing on inclusive education and participatory approaches for marginalized populations, particularly foreign nationals in European prison systems. His PhD research examines the educational opportunities and barriers faced by foreign prisoners in Greece and Italy, integrating a life-course perspective to explore how different life stages influence educational engagement during incarceration. His background is in Educational and Social Policy, Education studies and Sociology. He has collaborated with international organizations and stakeholders on projects promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and rehabilitation systems.
