Katrien Vanthomme is a postdoctoral researcher at the Sociology department. She obtained her master’s degree in Sociology at the University of Ghent in 2008. After graduating, she started working as a scientific collaborator at the Belgian Scientific Institute of Public Health. In 2013, she started her PhD on the social distribution of cancer mortality in Belgium at the Sociology department at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Currently, Katrien is working on the FWO-project ‘Cancer differences by migrant background: a population-based cohort study on determinants and backgrounds in Belgium in the 2000s’.
