After obtaining her Master in History in 2017, with an MA dissertation on hunger strikes in Belgian prisons during the interwar period, she left journalism and started working as a doctoral researcher at the centre for Historical Research into Urban Transformation processes (HOST). She prepares a PhD on the relationship between local police and migrants at the end of the long 19th century,  under the supervision of prof. dr. Anne Winter and co-supervision of prof. dr.
