Sylvia Hoens

Biography

Sylvia Hoens obtained her Masters’ degree in Adult Educational Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2016. Thereafter, she completed her Advanced master in Development Evaluation and Management at the Institute for Development Policy at the University of Antwerp. She is currently a PhD student at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), in the Belgian Ageing studies research group. Her research focuses on older adults with a migrant background and their access to home care services. She is engaged in different international networks, such as ROSEnet (Reducing Old age Social Exclusion) Cost Action Network and the Empowering Migrants’ Employment network (European Social Fund).
